Located in the southern core of the Greek mainland, Kalamata’s Airport “Capt. Vassilis Constantakopoulos” is a unique asset and a source of great opportunities. It has been enhancing tourism and connectivity by bringing people to the region from destinations spread throughout Europe, spurring economic growth.
The opportunity that lands with operating an urban airport in one of the largest cities in the Peloponnese region, elevates expectations of upgrading the airport’s airside and landside operations in a transparent manner, while striking a balance between commercial imperatives and the community interest. Basic priorities are to:
- Expand and improve existing aviation facilities and establish initiatives towards operating the airport in a more sustainable manner
- Improve operational efficiency with respect to landside activities and encourage greater use of the airport
- Upgrade passenger service and improve passenger convenience
